Introducing: Andre Tyrone

Introducing: Andre Tyrone
Chello World!

Yes I'm back on the scene. Taking a break from my otherwise busy schedule to give you the latest and greatest musical update. I was so proud and honored to be at the CD Listening Party of Andre Tyrone on Feb 4 2011 at the Spring Center in Atlanta, GA.

The atmosphere in the venue was energetic and I actually stepped in a little early to here Andre do a brief rehearsal. Warming up his instrument and doing a microphone check, I sat down with Modifyd and his beautiful wife.  This was a double treat cause I never seen Modifyd perform and there he was in the flesh.

GeeGee Ibarra & Andre Tyrone
The night started off with our beautiful MC, Ms. GeeGee Ibarra, who came with the flavor of sassy and heat. She provided some commentary on Andre and how hard he worked to get this month. Goes to show that if you know your worth you will put in the work.
Modifyd

The opening acts were Nyeri & Modifyd. Nyeri, a young and talented young lady that gave two songs that showed of not only her vocal range but her fiery stage presence. She rocked the crowd to an anthem that she is beautiful with no make-up and her boo loves her for it. (Picture not available at time of blog)

Modifyd came on next with a fresh floetic rhymes over laid back beats and a bass line that had us bobbing our heads. He let us know that he's a producer and that showed of that skill in the productions of his two songs.
The Many Sides of Andre Tyrone

Finally, GeeGee had us stand and give a warm and thunderous applause to welcome the Guest of Honor, Andre Tyrone. He came out with a bright smile and took control of the mic and let us all know that he's ready. He spoke about the journey that he's been on, the struggles in faith not only in his dream coming to life but himself.

The musical interlude gave way to his personal and powerful anthem, "Move". People stood up and shouted and clapping in hands and stomping feet while he declared to the haters and the naysayers that he's not going to let their negativity take his shine. Modifyd stepped to the mic and threw down to tricked out flow and they both gave a kinetic ending to a powerful song.

"Tough Love" came next, a bittersweet ballad about a love that started out with love and turned bitter. We all have been there. The Waiting to Exhale soundtrack that I have on repeat is proof of that  lol. Finally came my favorite song, "Destiny's Song". Here I am like a groupie singing every syllable along with him lol.

Andre & His #1 Fan: His Mother
The last song came to be a fitting tribute to Andre's #1 Fan, his mother. His testimony on the strength, determination and constant survivor that his is mother is a revelation in itself. "Belinda's Song" is a deeply moving and powerful song about a woman who never gave up and continued to be a rock for her kids. Yes, serious Lifetime Movie Moment here folks.
